For the license updating process in tally ERP 9 there are two sites ,one is single site and other one is multi site.In both single and multi sites, the license for updating are similar and then you require to update the license info at this point assigned with General/TDL .
The steps for license updating process
You know, from the Gateway of Tally Or company info
1) press F12 Configure
2) on that select license then Update license
3)The login as Remote Tally.Net user screen apears
4)Enter your email id ------
5) Enter your Password -----
6)You Accept update lisense
7)you will see the message that license Update Successfully.
