Before understand this procedure you must know following question
Q :- What is split ?
Answer : Split means divide any large data into its sub part .
Q:- What is split of tally data or SPlit of Company data ?
Ans : In tally software , we can keep and maintain many years data . There is no concept of closing of accounts in tally software . But due to every businessmen want some privacy in previous year data . Of course , they are interested , data previous year data should not be showed in current year balance sheet and current year profit and loss account . For this purpose , tally 9 software has very best tool of split tally data . It means now ,you can convert 2 or more years data keep it in your two new companies .
I want to explain it with an example →
Suppose A company is created at 1-4-2007 , he continues feeding data of transactions in tally voucher upto 31-3-2009 . So tally show balance sheet and profit and loss account on two year data base but , if you want to divide your company into

A company from 1-4-2008 to 31-3-2009
, after this you see your current period data with the help of splitting , your original company also retain in tally 9 . Now you have understood what is split of tally data .

Now I start the procedure or step for doing above into action →
Ist step
Open tally 9 and click company info. , if you have more than one company , then select that company whose data you want to split .
2nd step
After this again go to company Info. and click split
and after enter the data from when start split and then save .
Supose in above example you have to enter the split date 1-Apr-2008
and accept the form of split and after this you see in selected company there will two new company becomes automatically by tally

- You must have posted all entries pertaining to last financial year like closing balances, adjustment entries, depreciation entries etc. Else Wait!
- You must have adjusted all Forex Gaines/Losses. you can verify that no unadjusted forex gain/ loss is shown in balance sheet.
- There must be no purchase bill or sales bill pending . Go to profit & Loss statement or go to inventory statements to see any purchase bill pending or sales bill pending. The path is :

Open tally 9 and click company info. , if you have more than one company , then select that company whose data you want to split .

After the Audit for each Clause is completed, the vouchers marked with different Audit Status will appear in the Tax Audit Dashboard under the respective columns. The Tax Audit Dashboard with vouchers of various audit status is displayed as shown:
Unaudited - displays the Voucher count for Unaudited Vouchers including the Vouchers marked as Under Observation, Need Clarification, Clarified (to be re audited) and altered (to be re audited).
Audited - displays the Voucher count for the Audited Vouchers.Iron Man 2 (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)
Under Observation - displays the count of the Vouchers which are checked by the Auditor and the audit decision was not taken. These vouchers can be kept aside for seniors help or for a decision at later stage.
Need Clarification Vouchers - displays the count of the Vouchers which are sent to the Client to seek some clarification.
Clarified - displays the count of the Vouchers which were sent to Client and now clarified by the Client.
Altered - displays the count of the Vouchers which are altered by the Client after the auditing.
Explanation from Clients on Need Clarification Vouchers after the Audit is completed, the detailed Audit Status can be viewed to display the Audited Vouchers, Unaudited vouchers, Vouchers that need to be re-audited and were marked as Need Clarification.
The vouchers which are marked as Need Clarification need to be presented with supporting explanation or documentary evidence by the client, as required by the Auditor. The Client wills be able to view the Audit Comments and the vouchers which are marked as Need Clarification. To view Tax Audit information, execute the following steps.The Gift

Go to Gateway of Tally > Audit & Compliance > Tax Audit Once the Vouchers are clarified by the Client the Voucher Count on the Tax Audit Dashboard will shift from Need Clarification column to Clarified (to be re audited).
Highlight the respective Clarified (To be re-audited) column for the selected Clause (e.g. Bonus, PF, ESI Recoveries) and press Enter

Re-Auditing Altered Vouchers The Voucher altered by the Customer post audit will be listed under Altered (To be re-audited)column of Tax Audit Dashboard in Auditors’ Edition of Tally.ERP 9.The Need Clarification Vouchers which are altered by the Client are also listed under the Altered(To be re audited) column. For a detailed process of verifying and re auditing these vouchers, refer to the previous section offer auditing the Clarified Vouchers.
Auditing under Observation Vouchers, the Vouchers which are checked by the Auditor and the Audit comment is not entered due to the following reasons:
